    After washing it thoroughly, it probably wouldn't hurt to spray it with a vinyl restorer/preservative. I like to use ArmorAll Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer. It soaks in nicely and looks like the vinyl loves it.

    Sorry for your pain. That nice, bright diff cover is not as shiny as when you first "eyed it" now is it.
