110 volt to 24 volt convertor??

I may have a challenge for the steel soldier gods. I have a M146 that I turned into a camper. After going on several trips to various campgrounds around my area I have seen something that I want to add to mine. A lot of campers have a wire running to the plug of their trailers to allow the...

    Nhc-250 Torque specs

Thank you very much. My manual is different but I got the right answer anyway. I looked at page 325 and it is intake manifold installation. But from there I got the torque specs on page 55. Either way we are good to go. Thanks again for the help.

    Nhc-250 Torque specs

I have M816 with the trusty 250 cummins. I have a few bad injector o-rings since I am getting fuel into the oil. I got the new o-rings but I need to know the torque specs for the injectors. I have the manuals on CD and all I can find is torque specs for the heads then the rocker arm "towers."...

M818 & PA Drivers License Question

Just an FYI. My understanding is that you only need a class A CDL for anytime you are towing a trailer with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs or more. It doesn't matter one way or the other what the truck is setup for. There is no difference between a straight truck that can haul 35000 lbs to a regular...

    M146 Camper

I wasn't too worried about it either but I was doin it for more piece of mind for the wife. It is a simple step for a little peace in a marriage.

    M146 Camper

To all those asking about being looked inside. Not that it would be impossible to lock us in but it would be more work than it was worth. I lock the locks on the trailer side of the latches. The only way some one can lock us in is to put another lock on the latch side of the latch and then...

    M146 Camper

Finally got to use the camper ffor the first time this weekend. I was a little nervous about takin it to a camp ground sense it isn't white and doesn't have an the "curb appeal" that most people look for. They are not like us just remember that. hahaha. I got nothing but compliments from...

    M146 brake parts

As most of you know I have been working on a m146 turning it into a camper. It is finally done for the most part just some odds and ends here and there. Anyway. I finally used it last weekend but on the way to the campground the rear brakes "went out." Not matter what speed I was goin as...

    M146 Camper

Thanks. I liked doin this project and keeping the thread updated. And yes I am a father now. My daughter was born on may 6 at 5:34 pm. She was 7 lbs, 1 oz. Her name is Elliot Madision. When she was about 10 sec old I asked her if she wanted to go for a deuce ride and she smiled...

    M146 Camper

Got it more or less finished just in time for Aberdeen. Put in carpet in the front half and a linoleum (fake tile) in the back half for the 4 wheeler. I got the new queen sized bed this morning and threw it in there this afternoon too. Before I know it I will be camping with the family. What...

    Breaking Down Tires

I have done countless tires on the deuce with the "duck-bill" hammer and another sledge hammer. I have ran into a few that I think were original tires for the 60's or 70's that just about would not give up. For them I used our trusted backhoe and curl the teeth pushing down to add a lot more...

    Show us your Military Trailers

Here are a few pics of some of the trailers that we have. The first few are a 1991 20 ton 48' "deck-over" trailer. The last ones are a 1968 M146 12 ton enclosed trailer that I am in the middle of turning into a camper. Of course all are from the great US of A government. For the most part...

    M146 Camper

I also got a set of 2 24 volt LED taillights to work with the original lights. I got a set of brackets that are just bolted up under the rear lip of the trailer so they can be taken off at anytime and placed back to normal. I also got the tag finally and got it mounted with a tag light. That...

    M146 Camper

Got a little more done and finally got a chance to take some pictures. For the most part now the painting is done except for a few touch ups here and there. I need to finish the carpet in the front half and tile in the back. I decided to do it that way so I can put my 4wheeler in the back or...

    engine alternatives for the deuce?

Yes all the gears are the same front and rear. They are third members that are interchangeable anywhere on the truck. If you look at the top of the differential you will see on one side the driveshaft bolted to the pinion. If you look on the other side of that same differential you will see the...

    10 Ton M125 Repaint

I just sat a read this from page 1 to 21. I will say that is is by far the coolest rebuild/restoration/post that I have ever seen. It has taken me a while cuz I keep getting stopped to feed my 5 day old daughter but she likes looking at it as much as me and will have a 10 ton of her own one...
