    Asbestos Remediation and the M820

That's a great tip, I was wondering what sort of substance you could use in that sort of situation.

    Asbestos Remediation and the M820

Part of me would love to fix 'em up and use them, but I figure getting that and the AC to work, on top of just keeping the vehicle itself working, might be too much for me. Thanks for the tip on selling 'em, I wasn't sure how much of a market there might be.

    Asbestos Remediation and the M820

Hah, I hadn't thought of that. Geez, this litigious society of ours! Somehow everyone's ok giving advice related to many other more immediately dangerous aspects of vehicles (gas tanks/fuel, brakes, etc.), but this area gets everybody scared! I'm not saying you're wrong, I suspect your...

    Asbestos Remediation and the M820

I've tried to contact a few of the guys on Steel Soldiers who have M820s but haven't heard back... I just bought an M820 that has not had the asbestos de-mil treatment. I did find a PDF copy of the work order for it (which just basically says to remove heat registers, fill vents with expanding...

Safe to pull 12v from one battery of the four in M820?

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I'll do things the right way! One alternative I thought about, which maybe is what other people meant, or maybe is just impossible and I'm mis-remembering my electricity 101... couldn't you also draw 12v from all four batteries in parallel and use diodes...

Safe to pull 12v from one battery of the four in M820?

Thanks guys. Darn. I was afraid of that. The person I bought it from has some cigarette lighter sockets he installed with 12v, they're wired to some small silver box with heat sink fins (I assume a 24 to 12 v converter). I was just afraid that I'd be drawing too much current. But in light...

Safe to pull 12v from one battery of the four in M820?

I need to power a 10 amp 12v fan and 3 amp 12v and currently wired it up to pull the current from one of the four 12v batteries. The vehicle is the normal 24v kind, so this seemed the easiest way to get 12v. But I didn't know if there was anything wrong with this setup, if perhaps this could...

    M820, What's the story?

I'm not the OP, but I'm pretty sure he was talking about Eastern Surplus (just ouside Philadelphia) I know they have 2 or 3 M820s. I talked to them a while ago. The prices vary depending on the condition and features but IIRC the ones they had were $11k to 15k.
