Yes with weight appplied to the front springs they will compress. A cummins is going in so right at 1,000lbs will be on the front. So it will be around the same ride height, within an inch or two..
Yeah this was the second set of 5 i had bought. Got a set from 100dollarman just for them to be stolen out the back of a truck in Arkansas. Then got some from Berg. In 4 months that was the only 2 sets i found.
Thought i would share. D60 from a 92 dodge diesel, 14bolt out of a 96 chevy van with disk brake conversion. The rear end bolted up to the factory perches with the disk brake conversion. 12.50R20 XL's Grooved with a #4 blade and 20x10 Marsh racing wheels. Was home on R&R for 2 weeks for the...
As for more smoke of course any adjustment to fuel delivery could change the amount of smoke. If you had guages and your EGT's were higher than that would definetly tell you if you were pushing too much fuel.
Sounds like you are getting to much fuel. Seems as timing is fine if everything is responsive and idles well. But with a haze sounds like it is dumping alot of fuel. If you lug it down in a gear do you get alot more smoke than you used to?
LVS's turn alot freakin better also. But they are hard on the knees sitting in the turret for 7-8 hours at a time. Not that you care, just rambeling along...
RE: Re: RE: I should
Also if you are looking to buy it for resale, unless you sell it to a person that is looking to put it in heavy equipment you will most likely not get close to what you would with a regular dodge 6bt. I had a buddy that listed a industrial 6bt 4 times on ebay before it sold...
RE: Re: RE: I should
It's a 5.9 6bt industrial motor. Not sure about the HP rating but looks like a 1st Gen pump, most likely 160hp pump. But of course they are easy to turn up. When i bought my 6bt fully dressed it weighed in at 1035lbs on a pallet. You are probably looking around atleast...
Here is one listed on TN offroad. Dana 60 out of a CUCV located in Knoxville. There are quite a few on TN Offroad but 60's are always expensive. The contact info is located below. He is asking $1100 for it. 4.56 with a powerlock complete from hub to hub.

RE: Re: RE: 11.00-16 XL Tires Needed (2)
I understand. Talk to the guys at the M715Zone. Those guys are always looking for 11.00R16 XL's. Could probably get them takin off of your hands pretty quick if you did decide to go that route.
Well actually almost all of the medium duty 5.9med duty trucks come with a 1.75 or 2 inch input shaft. It would be easy if i have a bigger input shaft. Alot of the c70's had a 1.5input shaft but the OE clutches are rated for around 300-500ft lbs. I understand that this is not a medium duty...
Yeah i'm not to worried about the clutch. The smallest set-up that SouthBend would make for me was rated at 750ft lbs. Good to hear on that it is a SAE#2. The last piece of my puzzle is the starter. If i get a starter that will bolt to the SAE#3, will it mate up to the 173tooth 13" flywheel? And...
Ooh sorry, i forgot to say that the guys at ATT transmission (they bought all the medium duty trans from spicer/eaton) told me i could not fit a 14" flywheel and clutch. Hence the reason i am trying for the 13"
So you are saying a regular cummins starter will mount to the SAE#3 bellhousing and work properly? The regular 5.9 cummins requires an adapter to use the stock starter on a 13" clutch(for a nv4500). What flywheel do you have on your set-up?
As far as i know the only differnce between the automotive and industrial 4bt was usually the bellhousing they used depending on what type of equipment it was used for. But they have the same mounting points as a 6bt. same block just 2 cyl's shorter.
