Anyone know what this number on my M275 doors means?

did you buy it from government or private party? not a military mark I have seen. perhaps it was used by a local fire fighting or forest service etc

My Whistler 'C' Turbo coming to life!

I have heard it said that " it ain't yours unless you bleed on it". But I betcha if you cuddle and fondle it that most folks would say it's yours now. anything beyond that is probably against forum rules to discuss. I was curious though, does the turbo spin backwards down under like the water...

    1968 Kaiser M35A2 shifting issues

I had a friend who was trained at the ford factory. later He got a job at the timex factory testing watches. he was fired when they found out he could break an anvil with a rubber mallet. turns out he single handed stopped all the tickin and timex couldn't take a licken

My Whistler 'C' Turbo coming to life!

some folks don't like the sound of a c turbo on long trips. however some folks love the c turbo whine. especially when going thru the gears and up a hill. I fall into the later group. yes over the years I have had some hearing loss from loud noises like guns and brain damage from ex wives...

    1968 Kaiser M35A2 shifting issues

A visual inspection of the inside of tranny might be good. the center floorboard cover comes off with a few screws. then the top cover on the tranny itself. with engine off then try shifting gears. watch closely on the two gears in question. other tranny folks may want to try and chime in...

When did they switch rims on deuces from rivets to welds?

I have been told they are just as good. welding them just became cheaper to make.

When did they switch rims on deuces from rivets to welds?

I have a 68 and they are all riveted. I bought some spares from a guy that had several post ww2 deuces. all riveted and looked just like my 1968. never looked for any date stamps. now i am curious

    USCG SPC SW 24’ Boat

perhaps you could make use of that machine gun mount position and fab up a searchlight mount in that location. is the light controlled from a joystick in the cockpit or strictly manual. anyway cool stuff though. I have one from a destroyer with a signal shield on it. mounted it to my deck...

    Split Ring Horror??

considering how the bead edge of the military tires engulf the split ring my personal opinion is that it would be very difficult to have a catastrophic failure in regular use. driving on a severely under inflated or flat tire might cause it. in my experience even the loss of tread has allowed...

WTH: White Wall tires on Taliban HMMWV?

must have hired some russian tire painters. I suppose that was the best russia could send them. the rest of their best and brightest are otherwise engaged in the crimea. kind of a shock and awe display though.

Airpak - to rebuild or not to rebuild

i am no expert but give your post some time. my two cents is that these are designed to be rebuilt. rebuild kits are available. hardware store fittings may not be appropriate on these. i would take the fitting/pieces to a truck brake shop see if they can sell you the proper fittings. might...

M35A2 Rear Spring Bearing Block Wear / Repair

I would also say it looks normal. I believe they are designed to move in such a fashion. If it was me I would look at the rubber bushings in the "dogbone" links from the center pivot point between the axles and the outer connection to the axles. quite a few threads on here about maintaining...

    Today's Deuce Project

sounds good. but like real estate its location, location, location. shipping heavy parts around gets expensive. you need to be in an area that has a lot of guys/gals that want to work on old surplus and has pro surplus laws. you need some good buildings to store and work on stuff. most of...

    Today's Deuce Project

let us know how she works once you get some go juice in her. seems like there is always something that needs to be sorted out on a big project like this. also some glamor shots from 10/20 feet away. maybe even some action shots feeding the thirsty horde. nothing too sexy as we have young ones...

    Today's Deuce Project

by the way, the reason i mentioned the grounding issue was because i worked on an airfield in the army. helicopters and the odd small aircraft. our co at the time was shall we say extremely specific about how things were done. nothing but nothing was going to affect our units readiness...

    Today's Deuce Project

The scale is different but all the same type "@&%*#$" nonsense has happened on this end. literally tons of generators, compressors, water pumps, heaters , spare engines, deuce parts, military trailers. unfortunately most of it is no longer popular or geographically desirable. kind of makes you...
