G'day everyone,....
Well about a couple of years ago after I got my Deuce in the configuration I wanted, with one small exception.
That exception was it had the 'D' turbo and not the 'C' turbo I was wanting.
But good things come to those who wait.
Long story short, I came across the proverbial unicorn, a brand NEW 'C' turbo still in its crate, never issued, long lost in a far corner of a government
warehouse until it was sold as part of a job lot. This is when the Deuce gods smiled upon me and I bought it.
Shipped down under and in my hands I held it in reverence and packed it away in my workshop among a ever growing stockpile of spare parts.
I was determined to install it and complete my dream Deuce so I could listen to it in full song and enjoy the music.
Well Last week while I was at work a few of the guys and I were talking shit and the topic of my Deuce came up and the turbo I have for it.
My plan was to have the turbo stripped and cleaned as the lubrication it had when built had over the decades dried out and though it still spins
you can feel the drag from the dried lube that has become tacky,....
There was a business not far from where I work that rebuilt turbo's but just when I was about to get this done, it closed!
Well a mate of mine told me it did'nt close but was bought by a spare parts company and it has changed its name but it is still there.
So while at work I dropped in and found out they are in fact still there!
So we had a talk about what I wanted to do and Friday last week I dropped it off with them and by the end of THIS week I'll get it back!
Rebuilt with new O rings and gaskets etc,.... all ready to be fitted to my Beast.
The only other thing I need to do is get NEW tyres.
sigh,...
Aussie.
