    M1009… No Headlights HELP

Ok… turns out it was the dimmer switch on the steering column just like @Barrman indicated. I pulled the connector to the switch and jumpered it, badabing badaboom the lights worked. I have a new switch on order off Amazon. Thanks to everyone who replied and helped me nail this one down!

    M1009… No Headlights HELP

Thanks for the reply, I will give that a look In the morning. I’m not exactly sure what the dimmer switch looks like, but once I get in there, I probably will notice it.

    M1009… No Headlights HELP

They have never worked since I’ve owned the truck. Testing the headlight connection I used the ground on the plug. But now that I think about it, I should have used another ground. You have me thinking it’s a ground issue near the headlight itself. I will do another test tomorrow and see if...

    M1009… No Headlights HELP

Introduction: I own 2 CUCVs, a 87 1028 and a 86 1009. My 1009 has all lights functioning except the headlights. I have verified/done the following: 1.) No power at the headlights. Verified with multimeter. 2.) I have power at the 30 amp headlight fuse under dash. Verified with multimeter...

    new Kelsey Hayes rims?

They guys at Alfa Heaven are not too pleasant to deal with. They simply will not divulge where/how they get their wheels. My search on the net for Kelsey Hayes does turn up one company in Michigan that is a subsidiary of TRW, but it doesn't look like they have a retail outlet.

    new Kelsey Hayes rims?

I was looking at Alfa Heaven's trucks for sale and noticed that they are advertising that they are using "new Kelsey Hayes rims". Does anybody know where these can be purchased? What do you think the width of the rim is? The Goodyear MTs want a 8.25" rim. I really like the original style of...

Gorgeous looking M1009... I remember seeing this one for sale in FL if I remember correctly. I really think the sliding side windows make these CUCVs look good. Congrats!

    Camouflage question

I am considering changing my solid 383 Green paint job to the 3 color camo. My truck originally had the newer 3 color pattern and appeared original. My truck had solid green on the bumpers and grill. I have seen many trucks with the bumpers camo'ed and the pattern template that I have shows...

    12-Bolt Beadlock questions

Sharecropper, My first attempt at balancing was with 8oz of CounterAct in each wheel/tire combo, but that was obviously not enough. So I switch to the Centramatic balancers instead of wasting more money on the expensive beads. My tires have quite a bit of lateral run-out, so I still bounce...

    CUCV glow plug solenoid dance

Glow plugs are 12v from the factory... and they are still 12v. CUCVs never came with 24v glow plugs. The resister took the 24v input and stepped the voltage down to 12v (assuming all GPs are working). When you do the resister bypass, you wire the GP solenoid to a 12v source.
