I had the same thing happen to my M1028. Very rapid GP relay cycling on and off (like a machine gun). It is random on my truck. I usually pull the GP Controller card from under the dash and clean the contacts and that seems to fix it. Could be a coincidence but that is what I did. Maybe we...
How does it ride with your 37" Goodyear MT OZ tires and re-centered rims? I have the same setup on my M1028 and am having a lot of issues getting the truck to run smooth over 45mph. I've tried balancing beads... no joy... I even bought the Centramatic wheel balancers and this helped but didn't...
Thanks Andy...
The H1 wheels you made are really the ticket for these trucks. Keeps it looking military and not like a civilian truck. Your product is top notch!
And for those of you that are wondering... the 4.5" backspace works great on the CUCVs. No rubbing what so ever and keeps the...
Thanks SForce.
Used a stud welder dent puller and a acetylene torch and a wet sponge (heat and shrink). Then filled the space in between the outer roof and head liner with expanding foam to keep everything in place. Filler is pretty thin... roof isn't perfect, but good enough on a lifted truck...
I forgot to mention... this truck only has 20k miles. I believe it sat for over 10 years, I bet I could have filled half a 50 gallon drum with the rats nests I pulled out of this truck.
Well... I don't post much on here, but I sure do read a lot of your posts. This site has been extremely valuable in the restoration of my 1987 M1028, so thanks to everyone that contributes to this great site.
This has been my every weekend project for the last 9 months. Truck fought me the...
I bought all my bed carriage bolts at Lowes. I think I paid around $25 for the entire set. You will notice that the front bolts (close to cab) go through steel pipe to prevent the frame from crushing when tightening them down. I had Lowes custom cut pipe to length to replace them also.

I am currently running direct to the battery without a fuse, what kind of trouble could this cause? It seems to me if you add a fusible link, you are taking away the advantages of running direct to the battery.
I've looked everywhere for the stock steel 16.5x8.5 wheels and they are near impossible to find. In addition, the new 16.5" steel wheels sold on the net like Summit Racing only have a 2,000 lbs load rating (way below our trucks capacity).
SEM Burgundy 15063 is an EXACT match for the door panels that came on my 1987 M1028. I painted a small area on the non-faded backside of one of my panels to see if it was different, and my wife could not tell me which part of the panel I painted. It is very possible that the door panels have...
