My first truck has had the AC installed for the last 18 months. Worth every penny down here in S. FLA. I've got the Red Dot compressor mount kit installed. I found the RD kit to be over-engineered and some what cumbersome.
Yes I did. The external regulator is mounted on top of the alternator and wired to it. It turns out the alternator in question is for a HEMTT. Too large for the M939. It has been returned.
On a side note, I did find two of my Hawker batteries were at 11.5V. I have since removed them, and are...
You would need to disable the ignition. Drop a gallon of diesel in to the crankcase and turn the motor over a few times. Drain the diesel and service the engine with appropriate lubricant. Drive it a few miles, and change out oil.
After installing an RD AC unit on my truck, the stock 60 amp alternator has fallen short on amperage. The solution, a bigger alternator.
I have recently acquired a Neihoff 14/28V 200 amp alternator to feed the electrical system on my M923A2. Does anyone know what and if, any electrical...
Haven't received the new alt yet, but I plan on upgrading the wires to lower gage. The pcb should handle the higher amperage....I hope. This Neihoff 4/28 200 amp alternator should drop in to the existing mount. I'll keep you guys posted.
I'll be installing a Niehoff 14/28V 200 amp alternator. I'm guessing that the additional amp draw to charge my 4 batts might be too much for a 60 amp alt. and the RD AC system.
For those considering AC installation in their M939s, be aware that the alternator will need to be upgraded to a 100 amp or >unit. I've suffered multiple electrical system faults due to alternator not liking the additional load. So far I've replaced the ABS ECU, the fail safe module, and the...
Hey over. During the ac installation process, did you allow the drier to sit uncapped for a long time? This would introduce excessive amounts of humidity into the system and reek havoc on the system. Your high side should not be above 300.
When choosing the location for the condenser, I wanted the unit above the water line. Down here in Florida we are exposed to hurricanes and torrential rains that accompany severe flooding. Placing the condenser in the cargo bed provides protection against the elements.
Here are the pics of the compressor mount, pulley kit, and fan spacer. The second pic shows the compressor pulley attached to flywheel. All parts are included in the kit.
