Hey Maddawg, just got back from a week in D.C. myself. Flew into Reagan then drove straight to Dulles. Don't know why we didnt land there to start with? Great trip to the Air and Space Museum. My fav's were the Enola Gay and The SR-71 Blackbird. That thing was awesome sitting right under the...
It was nice to meet Gimpy and Oilcan Sunday. First guys I have actually met in person from the site. Hope you guys got home safe with little trouble. You guys had a big list of parts to pick-up. May need to bring a trailer next time. Heading out to D.C. in a bit, hope to catch up with this...
Let me say "Thank You" to all of you for giving us some ideas for a name. Last night we had our montly meeting and voted on all the names. There was some real good ideas but only one truck to name. Guess I need more trucks so I can use 'em. After the vote the winner is in. A special thanks to...
Guys let me start by saying I know very little about automotive painting. I will share what little I know. After a long search for a lusterless WWII OD Green paint we settled with Milspray. They have about every color available and were very helpful with coaching me on my decision. Being a...

Those pics are exactly what we had planned on purchasing for a brush unit. We decided to save some $$$ and use the 5 ton that was originally going to be used for another project. It also allowed us to move alot more water and will give us a tanker credit for insurance ratings.
Thanks for all the comments so far. I'm gonna share them with all the members nest week and see if we can pick one name out of the bunch. Seen a couple that I really like, may have to veto everybody and pick the one I like. Its nice being in charge sometimes.....
Some of you commented on the...
Was gonna cover it originally. We needed to use to top for tools though and the little 3 cylinder diesel really cranks out the exhaust when you wind it up.
Its been a long project but I think were done. Posting a few pics of the 5 ton to see if anyone wants to chime in with a good name for it. We are going to put a name on it somewhere and can't settle on a name. If you have one let me know and I'll make sure you get credit for it when its painted...
Tires are close. Got about 1and half inches between them. We have crossed it over steep hills and creeks and nothing rubs. Its close but just fine. I can't make them hit the bed and thats what I was worried about.
Chris we use Covington Diesel for all our transmission parts. I'm guessing they will not be the cheapest but are very reliable and helpful when working on something tricky. They are in Charlotte, NC. Here's a link if your interested.

If you don't have a dolly or a buddy to loan you one, you can use the old fashioned dirty method. Jack up the tires, put down a piece of tin or metal and put oil under it. Lower the tires and slide em out from under. Works pretty good, just a little messy.:cookoo:
