Pulled the old air pack and master cylinder. Installed two new units cleaning up all the brackets with a wire wheel and painted black rustoleum I glued the boot to from the master cylinder on to the push rod to help prevent it popping off and causing water and dirt to enter the master cylinder...
Thanks... I just tried that and no go. I got frustrated yesterday and tried to cut it out and even then it's in there like it welded it's self... New Master Cylinder and air pack ordered
Anyone know the trick to getting the master cylinder to give up its guts? I'm doing a MS rebuild so I pulled it out cleaned it off pulled the snap ring tension piece in the plunger section but it doesn't want to open up any further? The unit is pretty rusty so I'm soaking in in penetrating lube...
Just in case someone needs a mock up for their battery box.
I used all junk bed frame L channel steel $free... Just a lot of welding and patience. Best part was I could start the truck and hear it rumble... Now the master cylinder rebuild and then tires.. Almost forgot I welded the mirror...
I cut the old rotted metal out of the battery box complete floor and 1/3 of each side wall.. Fabbed up some bed rails for the bottom and welded them in. Patched the sides added two bed rails welded to the floor to raise the batteries. I then used left over bed rails for the Pulse Tech fuse block...
Found the battery box was missing some metal. I went to find a spot to put the new pulse tech 12/24 volt battery box unit I got off a popular auction site and found, the whole bottom of the box was rotted out. I guess they needed something to hold the batteries in and they didn't have a guy who...
Changed the engine oil and filters. Small mess in the driveway.

32.00 for filters from NAPA.
Washed the Air filter out with dish soap and some bleach (waiting for that to dry off).
Ordered the master...

Thanks!
I just started looking up the parts list. I was reading another thread and it seems like that's the norm... I've got nothing to complain about, she made it home and whats a little elbow grease a few busted tools and some time getting to know the system..
Good thing I have some...
Oh good a quick fix! I'm sure I should bleed the system a bunch also, would just junk in the lines cause this? I'm just thinking this might be something someone else has seen and dealt with in the past, before I go rebuilding all the major parts of the breaking system. Don't get me wrong, I do...
OK so I'm hoping someone here can help with my issue.
I picked up my new MV a 1975 M54A1C this past Thursday from GL and I ran into a couple of issues along the trip home. Note this is my first MV and first air hydraulic break vehicle but I'm very familiar with the hydraulic breaks on all...
X2 I'm sitting here on fathers day waiting to get my truck and I'm tired looking at all the work you have in this beast. Awesome just awesome!
Man I got a ton of work to do just to park near that thing!
I don't know. Hopefully someone here knows. I bought it via the interweb cause I was feaning for it worse than a crack head after losing the auction for this truck. I'm still very grateful for the truck I got, Don't get me wrong. I went to my car and pulled the pictures of it out to share. I...
