I am still working on my air brake conversion...got a day job, you know ;). Anyhow, I finished all the plumbing to include the cab appliances. I need a couple parts to install the air dryer to complete the air system. Last big step is to install the wedge brakes and drums on the front axle, replace the boots, inner axle seals and connect the brakes to the air system. Follow the progress here....

I have come up with a problem; Had my 923 warming up for a run the other day when it just shut down! Check fuel...that's okay. Check main fuel filter... replaced it and primed. Still won't start. Next I checked the solenoid cut off switch and it works. I even wired it open to see if by chance it was bad but that's not the problem. Engine cranks and runs some when starting fluid is sprayed so it's not getting fuel. Any ideas ??

Looks like you canned the heaters but kept the A/C; was it the A/C unit that came with the truck or one that you picked up later? It's a sweet looking setup, I'm jealous.

And I guess the leveling legs aren't really needed also, right?

All pumps seem to be working. However today I took out the feed tube from the fuel tank and the lift tube has a solder joint to the fitting that screws into top of fuel tank. Air test the pickup tube and it leaks air. So it looks like that might be where the air in the lines has been coming from. Will fix that in the next few days but also going to put a 24v inline electric fuel pump just in front of the primer pump. This will help speed things up when I change the fuel filter or prime the lines. I will let you all know how it works.

Found the battery box was missing some metal. I went to find a spot to put the new pulse tech 12/24 volt battery box unit I got off a popular auction site and found, the whole bottom of the box was rotted out. I guess they needed something to hold the batteries in and they didn't have a guy who could weld at the forestry service so they had one who took wood shop. First pictures is his answer to a rusted out box.

I immediately decided something had to be done about this and pulled the batteries out, shimmied the box out and cut the bottom off (still dressed in office clothes). I'm going to rebuild it using some spare L brackets from some old bed frames and make it new again.

Here is a mock up of the final install / look I was thinking about. Feel free to chime in if you think this Pulse Tech unit is not able to handle life in the battery box. I saw on the threads here that this unit is the way to go for 12V in the rig.

Just did my first oil change on the M814. Found out JUST how far oil will shoot out of the back of a NHC250 oil pan when you take the plug out.

Bought it!!! still giddy as can be ! Two major points though , the biggest was it was in Fort Polk and as we all know jeepsinker is there so I was hoping to talk him into picking it up. And of course he said he will. Yay and Praise for Jeepsinker!

Point two .

Sadly probably will be a month berfore I have a couple days off to get it, that's the bad part ! on the otherhand I wonder if I can talk jeep and hire jeep if he is able and bored to just drive it around and see if any bugs (haven't mentioned that to him yet) Cause just getting it for me is huge and that was the main reason I got that one as it was his neighborhood soooooo

A big great thanks to jeepsinker , as we know he is hurting but still said yes !!
