We have a 500 gallon tank, two hose reels and pump/motor and it rides like a dream. If you dont have the flatbed you should be able to mount at least 1000 gallons of water. Those Beds are heavy. http://halltownfire.org/images/Trucks/IMG_5672.JPG

We have two of these trucks that we use as brush trucks but they are old and demand a lot of maintenance.

We have had this truck in service for a while now and the 500 gallon tank, dual hose reels and pump weight have made this truck a dream to drive. It is slightly slower taking off but everything else has been great. I will upload recent pics soon.
We just finished our LMTV for a brush truck. It has a 500 gallon Military aluminum fuel pod as a water tank, two hose reels and a pump. We also use the truck for water rescues. This has been and excellent addition to our broke volunteer department.
They can and do get stuck especially if you don't go directly into the muck. We tried to avoid it and got two tires mired down on one side. This left the drivers side tire just spinning with no traction. Jeep and a 15,000 lb winch pulled it out with a pulley. Interesting side notes...1. our CTIS...
