86humv Where did if you get a grommet large enough to fit around the rubber elbow? I don't recall seeing any that size of home depot or lowes but then again never needed one that large so maybe just never noticed.
Thanks
Oh alright was really wondering since the more pictures I looked at they seemed to look like two different setups were half looked like mine with gap and other half looked different entirely which now makes perfect sense with what you just said. I think I'll try what you said though and cut ring...
I got the rubber elbow with the hose clamps as you mentioned it just looked like in that second picture above there was another piece bolted in there where that original metal piece was that kinda filled the gap between around the rubber elbow.
Nope, the metal part that replaces the part in the top picture. The part in top picture went in that spot but its to small for the snorkel tube to fit into and see in that second picture they have a piece in that spot and didn't know if there was a separate part that goes with the snorkel tube...
I recently changed out the low air intake to the deep water kit with the raised snorkel. Well, I removed the flange piece and the new snorkel part did not fit in this piece so now there is a gap around the elbow coming up to the snorkel where this flange piece use to go. Well, I came across this...
I just opened the package I purchased that was suppose to come with all the parts needed to install the deep water intake to realize it has every part with the exception of the elbow tube. I noticed a couple on ebay but $65 plus another $15 for shipping, so $80 total for a little elbow piece...
Thanks for all the info really appreciate everything and yeh was just really bummed out last night since a user on here private messaged me telling me they had a 6.2 pull out locally and would give it to me for $500 to help me out due to my spot. I sent him messages the entire day saying I would...
Looks like this won't be happening after all, user messaged me this morning on this forum saying they were local and would sell me a running take out 6.2 to help me out since purchased my HMMWV from guy who lied about motor being a complete lemon so messaged guy all day saying would take it when...
There more I was reading up was coming to the same conclusion no point changing them if don't need to. Will I need new gaskets for the exhaust since swapping it out? Also, new to all this and the terms what exactly is flushing the block?
Thank You
I got one other question while I got the motor outside of Vehicle are there any parts would recommend changing that are not very expensive and would be easy to do with motor out? I was thinking of changing out the glow plugs and putting in some Wellman Glow Plugs. Would it also be worthwhile...
So found potential great deal on 6.2 replacement since mine is currently being held together by JB weld. I have tried searching the internet and all I can seem to find is post regarding swapping from the 6.2 to the 6.5 and similar results. I was just trying to find information on just replacing...
Well figured would need a turbo style doghouse, custom downpipe, and raise the body by 1 inch to clear the turbo along with few smaller things here and there.
Purchasing a Turbo 6.5L to replace my 6.2 and new to this area so was wondering if by chance there was anyone in the SW Missouri area that has experience switching out motors since haven't had much luck finding local places that want to work on a HMMWV. Willing to tow it a couple hours if there...
I tried exactly what was said above of trying to cut end off old glow plug and threading it in and didnt have any luck prior to writting this post but was trying to use a HF thread kit. I will go ahead and get a nicer one such as one from sears and give that a try then.
Thank You
So i changed all the glow plugs and with the 7 of them it now fires right up instantly, however, the 8th one broke inside and went through every imaginable step trying to remove it and got everything I could see but is still a piece stuck in there and have even removed injector and still cant...
Well, I tried to put a nut on it and pop it out but no luck so finally just drilled out some more from the center of it and it finally crumbled in on itself and was able to pull most of the pieces out however the glow plug round center part is still in it so tonight going to go ahead and try to...
Alright, so just wanted to say I love this forum and everyone on here is amazing and the advice is incredibly helpful! So I said the **** with it don't plan on keeping this motor for all that long I'm going to go for it on drilling it out and if cant get it will just go with metal can route. I...
