make sure to hold the injector when installing the lines . If you tighten the line too much the injector will also turn. The 6.2 diesel uses 2 types of lines one for injectors that are at a angel and one that is strait. this depends on the year and any mods from previous repairs.
I have one on a truck in a field at my house . Installed it last night and worked great I also tested another one and it also worked . Hey Stampy just having fun. I also have a brick grill made from gold bars will trade for ocean front properity on the moon. LOL.
Clean the post on battery 2 and check the wire from the pasenger side alternator to the battery clamp on the battery closest to the firewall with the cable off the battery using a ohm meter.
You can leave the lines on the pump just takes alitle fenes. You can use gaskets but rtv works well. I would change the oil sending unit easy to get to and cheap insurance. Like the other post also change crossover tube gaskets and thermostat. Clean the glow plug conectors and other sending...
Ill try this for a beer. Jack the truck up and check the front springs. I would think that the left spring is sliding on the axel perch and the spring bolt is not tight in the hole in the perch. The springs could also be weak and the left one is weaker than the left and allowing the axel to move...
the truck will not start. Give more info of what you are looking at. The truck is hard to start. You dont hear the gps click when the switch is turned. The gps could be good and you have bad glowplugs or a fuel problem. If you start the truck and let it warm up and then sit for awhile is it hard...
You can start the motor without ths alternators just tape the ends of the alternator wires and use a piece of small rope from the water pump to the balancer to circulate the water. Tape the wires one at a time not together. the rope will not be as tight as a belt so it will be slipping dont try...
17 year old back yard mechanic. GREAT JOB. I want to add one to my truck but im afraid i would blow my head gaskets. I did turn up my fuel and added more air through the air cleaner. I think you did a great job.
check the fusible links. give them a slight tug and if they fall apart replace them. also use a test light on the battery conections not the centers make sure the clamps are clean. battery voltage goes from the batteries to the starter then from the starter to the fusible links to everything...
You more than likely have a bad fuel filter base. Change to a round filter and fix the problem. I got one from Walmark it was in with the fishing gear and was 26.00 dolars or so. The filter reads not to use for diesel but mine has den on my truck for 3 months and ben fine. Also a fram fuel...
I think what you are worried about is the truck overheating and her not looking at the guage. You can get a guage that has a adjustable second needle that hocks to a control box and can then be wired to the injection pump removing the wire on the pump that is their now. When the truck is driven...
I live in Henderson and work in Butner. I used to work at the OMS shop 11 years ago and built one truck for the fire department and added a water cannon dehind the cab. The truck that was scraped was a old milk tanker. You can find lots of trucks for that price and get all the parts with it. If...
I too started my new motor in the can. I made 3/4 inch spacers and left the side brackets un bolted. This motor ran great untill it was in the truck with water. I now have another motor in this can and have a truck radiator hocked to it with no fan on the water pump. I placed a house box...
This sounds like a problem I had wile working for the National guard. We had a fuel cap with a inertube stem atached and would blow low air pressure in the tank. Found alot of rotten fuel lines that would let the motor start but would also let air into the system. The fuel hoses under the...
Look to see if they changed the wireing to the relay to 12 volts. I had a problem with one truck and changed it to manual switch and ran new cable with 12 volts to the relay. The relay stoped working , changed the wireing back to the resistor block and now it works again. I still use a manual...
I use a snap -n openend angle wrench both ends are open and at different angles. They are about $40.00 but I did alot of injection pumps for the Military shop I worked in. I also have a 5/8 wrench that I cut at 4 inches long and bent at 90% and welded to a chisel that fit into a socket that I...
If the guage is not reading at the lower fuel in the tank try to clean the sending unit. I soak them in muritiac acid for cleaning bricks. Just soak for two minutes then rinse with fuel and put it back in the tank. Dont scrub it or wipe it at all just soak it. The sending units are very easy bo...
