luckily I checked my emails and seen this notification. They have held up like a champ for over 3 years now. They do show signs of surface rust but not much I can do about that. They’ve held up to my 12v Cummins swap no problem!
A friend suggested the exact same thing. I will get the tank lowered and see what I can find out. Thanks again!
Yeah I had an issue with the prop but it was corrected the following day
Yeah I caught his sideways remark lol
So I discovered that one company makes my gauges and the other...
Wow, Thanks for all the responses! I will try each and every one sometime this week! For your entertainment I have updated the first post with pictures.
Thanks again!
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, I have some questions and was just curious if anyone had similar issues.
I have a 1992 M998 with a 12v Cummins swap and 4L80E. Love this beast.
1.) I have noticed that my fuel gauge is off... as in, when it reads "E" I can only put 12 gallons of Diesel...
It was a random one off Amazon and worked great. It got damaged in the mountains and I removed it. I'll order another one soon.
Update on my build:
5.9l 12v Cummins swap
40" nitto's
4L80e
New hard doors and black soft top (not installed)
I'll post pictures of the build when I can get to a PC
Gents it's been a hectic few weeks but I can say my opinion on the humvee hasn't changed, I love it. Since purchasing the humvee I've done a few things, nothing major.
- replaced front two CV Shafts
- purchased two rear CV Shafts (will replace soon)
- installed a back up camera
- installed off...
So I started to replace the front CV axles and watched a few videos before hand. Got the tank lifted and removed the passenger tire. Removed the cap, then the bolt, then made my way under the tank. Started to remove the bolts from the rotor but was unable to get them to budge... I also noticed...
Anyone know where I can purchase the rubber bushing with threads that the bucket secures to? Mine broke off... The spring also broke off the bucket. So I should probably replace them both.
Lol, yeah ive got all LED bulbs installed, I was referring to the housing :ROFLMAO: wayyyy over priced
I was able to disconnect it thanks to your advice and after letting my frustrations go :ROFLMAO:
Removing the headlights to paint the rusted assembly. How do I disconnect these cables? I've been pulling/twisting/cussing but none are working lol. I'm about to say screw it and just mask it all off, sand, then paint.
Another question I have is for my turn signals up front, has anyone replaced...
I'm definitely wanting one! Got a video or guide for me to follow? I'm just wanting to make sure the Humvee is reliable before i start adding goodies lol
I'm assuming you're referring to the half shaft? And thanks! The truck is in really good shape!
I'm actually near Charlotte, NC but thanks! I love this thing lol
Well boys we got her home Tuesday! The only issue is the above mentioned boot and the gentleman was kind enough to give me a new half shaft (Will the H1 half shaft work?) Learned that the vehicle was assigned to a base in Tennessee and never left the states!
Just a quick note:
+ This thing is...
