Is there any advantage of running a 200 amp genny vs the old school 100 amp? I read something that the 200 amp doesnt go thru the glow plug box? it's a base model bone stock M998. No add ons.

The old school is a 60 A single voltage with brushes and a rather poor regulator subject to failure the 200A and the 100A are dual voltage usually which helps keep the batteries balanced and they are a brushless design.
The 100A is much rarer than the 200A and generally more expensive.

I say no advantage to the 200A. The “old school” 100A doesn’t go through the start box on mine.

RIGHT... The contacts on the ENGINE connector to the box can not handle the current. The 8 ga pins are only rated 70 amps on a good day.

Was a bad design right out of the gate...errr BOX, CAMO
