what size stakes should I make to put them together with and do I need pins to hold them in or do the stake pockets have bottoms if so how long should my stakes be?

Stakes should be 1 1/4 X 1 3/4" by what mdmorgan posted and make them 18"long. Take a small hand saw with you and cut the stakes so that they stick out of the pocket by a couple of inches.
