Lots of post here about making military trailers work with civilian trucks.......what I need to do is find 12/24v LED tail & marker lights to put on a civilian lowboy trailer so I can pull it with either a civilian or military truck.I plan on adding a military trailer plug and splicing it into the existing trailer wiring so no adapters are needed....just use whichever plug the truck has.Does anyone have sources for good quality LED lights that are rated to work on either 12 or 24v?

Here's a couple optionshttp://eriksmilitarysurplus.com/mitradcactro.htmlI think this one's the correct one.http://www.xm381.com/xm381/Civi_Trailer_Lights.htmlGood info herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlI3T4EM_RAMight contact him to see if he has more to sell. Looks like he knows his stuff.
Might work ok, but kind of pricey. Only problem I see is that the converter seems to be very sensitive to how many lights are on the trailer. If I can find LED's that work with either 12 or 24 volt it would seem to be a much simpler solution.

I bought a set of magnetic stick on LED towing lights from Harbor Freight for flat towing a jeep. They say 12 Volts but they also work fine on 24 Volts. I've used these for towing a friend's car trailer with non-LED bulbs.

EDIT: Realized that 98G said pretty much the same thing.

Just got off the phone with Trucklite asking about multi-volt lights. They have different kinds of marker lights already available and are coming out with a 4" dia. Stop/Turn/Tail multi-volt light. (red only for now) The tech support gal I talked to is going to find out when it's going to be available. (probably soon since she was showing some inventory). I'll post what I find out.Sounds like the ticket to me....just add military trailer plug and splice it into the trailer wiring. Then just plug in whatever truck you're using. Also talked with Grote, but they don't have any products other than some spot lights that are mult-volt.

I bought a bunch of complete led round Amber side marker lights at a show. Needed the red ones, went to napa with the amber one and they found the truck lite red insert. Swapped out the LEDs and mounted them on the trailer.
