Agreed, and disagree with "It will kill your batteries". This went around and around before, and if I remember correctly, there were no known cases of it killing batteries. Even the military does it as factory wiring.
Now a small draw probably won't noticeably harm your batteries but if you draw very much, it will shorten the life of your batteries. It sounds like the OP wants to run quite a bit of 12v accessories. There's just no way the battery charge can be balanced with one battery having more draw than the other, one will always be undercharged or overcharged.
If you want to do it, have at it. The battery dealers will thank you.
