i havent taken possession1965-dodge-m43-usmc-ambulance-4.JPG of this vehicle yet because of the blizzards we keep getting.
i aint willing to go for a 2000 mile round trip on ice ;)
when i do though
i will go over everything to make sure it is shipshape
install a coolant heater
and possibly an aftermarket cab heater
5 new tires
and use it as my daily driver round town

am thinking of going to tractor supply and buying a sheet of 4x8 foot 1 inch thick rubber mat they put in horse stalls and lining the floor, tranny hump with it.
those sheets probably weigh 100 lbs each.
if we add mass
it will dampen sound

pull the 318s carter carb and clean/rebuild (it floods badly)
and maybe hear it run for the first time

Tractor Supply sells 1/4" too and it works great. That is what I used to make mats in my WC-51. Good Luck!

one thing i havent figured out
how to open driver door without climbing halfway out the window to undo the spare tire latch
There should be a latch on the inside at the rear of the driver's door that releases the spare tire mount so it will open with the door. At least that's the way it was on the M37B1 my dad owned years ago.

I like having the spare tire on the door. It is a lot of extra protection in the event of a side impact T-bone crash.

Your truck is cool, by the way.

i bought a new chinese carb
no instructions of course
and i dont know jack dookie about carbs.
plus i have no idea which ones i have out of the seemingly thousands of slight variations
so even though i cant afford it.
i am hiring a carb shop to fix my problem
i am going to hand them both carbs and say make one of em work
and in an absolute worst case scenario
i will once again rent a trailer and haul this 7200 pound behemoth to the carb place
but getting it on and off a trailer
by myself
with only a come-along is an all day sucker
if i ever get this truck running
THEN i will clean out the gastank
