The front Axel on my 1974 Kaiser M52-A1 will not stay engaged. I can hear the air when shifting into 1st gear, but after moving ahead for a few feet, the front Axel no longer turns. Any ideas?

Have you pulled the air piston on the Tcase apart to make sure it is functioning? Thats where I'd start.

f all air acuated parts are working, drain transfer case, refill with kerosene and drive for a while. Maybe 2 weeks, then drain and refill with gear oil. This cleans a sticky sprag unit and often fixes problems. JT
