Its a
1970 AM General M35a2 no original winch that I know of, but it has been bobtailed and modded some.

Rebuilt in 1984

serial number is 053912053

purchased from Hendrick Pre-Owned in Cary, NC formerly owned by a Mr. Jimmy Vaughn

Found D-24 on the bumper

Update: heard back from Steve C., and the current bumper numbers are fiction (they came from another truck).

So all I have is the VIN and manufacturer date.

The right bumper seems to read "HQ 11", but the before photos are very low res. I also know that it wasn't originally tan.

No info. You will need to check the frame to validate this serial number. Doesn't see legit unless it was a non-Army vehicle.

Not a valid serial number. You will need to check the frame and get the correct one.

Based on the bumpers, it was an Army Test and Evaluation Command vehicle used at Y? Proving Grounds.

the serial number didn't come up for either. There was this serial number for a 101A1 but not an A2.

The bumper numbers are for 1st Infantry Division, 601st Area Support Battalion, B Company Vehicle number 215 Trailer.
