Sorry about the I - O. Let me give it another try:

VIN WMA5500528W009850
Date mfg 11/1986

That one came up. Not sure what the deal was with the other serial number???? No biggie.

Organization:DOL STOCK RECORD ACCOUNT Location:FT SILL
OK
Nomenclature:
TRUCK WRECKER 10-TON Model:
M1002 NSN:
2320121915423 Serial Number:
WMA5500528 Registration Number:

1986 Manufacturer:

Info as of Sep 2005 during a records reconciliation so this info is probably from earlier than that.

At some point it appears to have went to 2nd Battalion 4th Field Artillery also located at Ft Sill.

As a side note, it appears many of these were located at Ft Sill at one point.

CARNAC, thank you for the information. Donation made and SS Project mentioned. I have highlighted below, in bold red, a couple of items in your response because I'm not sure what the information represents. Could you let me know? And, wow, I thought I bought a 1975 model, at least that's what the Title says, now I know it's a '72. Thank you.

I think I cover this in post 1 information but just in case.
Registration number has no real civilian equivalent. It would be akin to an administration number on your car registration. Is used extensively in ;tracking the vehicle in maintenance operations and fueling (rather than using the serial number).

Manufacturer cage code 65909 is Kaiser Jeep.

July 1994 as stated in the previous posts is the last record update for this vehicle.

Thanks for helping the Gene Vance Foundation.

CARNAC, thank you very much for your info and patience. Looks like I thought I purchased a 1975 AM GEN (that's what the Louisiana title says anyway) but you've identified it as a 1972 Kaiser Jeep. I have a lot to learn about this vehicle and I probably paid too much but I'm happy with it. I might be cussing it in a year but happy for now. Took it on a 80 mile round trip today, from one side of Houston to the next. Had a "blast" with it and no problems. Joined the Bluebonnet Motor Pool a couple of weeks ago and the Texas Military Museum this week. I think I will be able to soak up a lot of experience from these guys in keeping my Deuce going. Thank you again, God bless, and a Happy New Year!

Making Sense of the numbers

Very new to the forum and trying to understand what all the numbers mean.

US Army
1968 Kaiser M35A2
Stock Number 23200771616
SN/VIN 4M3903 (this is all that is on the Missouri title I was handed)
Hood number 04A29659
? DA20113AMC07241T ? Is this part of the VIN? I see so many different combinations and lengths of numbers on the forum I have no idea.

This truck is being delievered to my house in a couple days, and concerned that the 6 digit VIN will not satisfy the IL DMV. If you can please provide any information on the truck and if that VIN is good, I would greatly appreciate it and gladly make a donation.
Thank you,
Chris

Sep 2005 was the last date posted as a reconcilliation.

Not sure about the 1013s until we try. Post them all together cause its a PITA to have to constantly bring up the DB and close it out.

It's not a good VIN. You will need to read post 1 to see where the serial number can be found.

It's a 1972 based on the serial number

No info on this truck. The registration number came back from a totally different vehicle. Need to verify the serial number on the frame to make sure this info is correct. The registration number comes back for serial number 52517103
The serial number came right off the frame rail. Had to grind a bit of paint off to get to it but it was there. hmmm.

Does this sticker help? It was left by DRMO on the door. Thanks

OK according to the shipping label you have the truck belonged to the 445th Quartermaster Company. The bumper number was DS-06 and it was a M35A2C drop side deuce with a regirstration number of 0412470 (although the label says that is the serial number, that's is a registration number if I ever saw one).

That registration number comes up as

Organization:ECS 27 FT DIX NJ Location:FT DIX
NJ
Nomenclature:
TRUCK CARGO 2-1/2T Model:
M35A2 NSN:
2320000771616 Serial Number:
52517103 Registration Number:
4N12470 Year of Mfg:
1970 Manufacturer:
65909

However by doing a reverse search I came up with the following from the 445th.

Organization:445TH QUARTERMASTER COMPANY Location:MG STRYKER RC
NJ
Nomenclature:
TRUCK CARGO 2-1/2T Model:
M35A2 NSN:
2320000771616 Serial Number:
52517107 Registration Number:
4N12870 Year of Mfg:
1970
That's all I can find.
