Thanks Carnac, I received email withsome info on two CUCV 1009 from 177 AR from you. I am trying to learn how to communicate on this site efficiently, etc, but am unsure of some things. I was expecting a two week turn around on the info from you. Is that correct, or was that email it? Is there a way to get maintenance records etc?

Thanks, IROC99

Post #138 on this thread is the information on the vehicles you requested. Sometimes I can do it quick. Other times I can get it done real fast like the past few weeks I;ve replied within a day or two.

I provide the vehicle information for the last recorded Army user. Most maintenance records are erased from the maintenance system once the vehicle leaves the unit. The Army maintenance computer system does not have a historical file capability. Once a fault is fixed, it's dumped from the memory.

Conceivably you could contact the unit and see if they still have anything. You would have to do the research on their phone numbers and contacts on your own.

M49A2 w/w

a. Serial Number (VIN number) ------ 062512640
b. Registration Number -----not sure
c. NSN without dashes ---4730009364584
d. Where you bought it- I think it came from GL in Alabama but i got it from a public auction
e. Bumper numbers... -----
some number i found on the data plate 37625269032811113 couldn't make out what it said the number was
No information on these numbers. If it is an M49A2C then the correct NSN would be
TRUCK, TANK, FUEL SERVICING, M49A2C WITH WINCH (2320-00-077-1632) (EIC: BMF)

If this is an original M49A2C w/w (winch not added after the fact) then it is indeed a somewhat rare bird.

There also a good potential this truck was used by the USAF and I wouldn't have records on that.

Get the serial number off the frame. That will straighten this out...we hope. Post #1 gives the info on where to find the number on the frame.

Good luck

Info as of Aug 98. The year says 1970 but the registration number tells me 1971. I personally would go with 71. The database is inputted by lower enlisted clerks so basically garbage in, garbage out.

I didn't find anything. The WRYAC0 is actually a unit identification code. I was able to find it and it is C Company 448th Engineer Battalion, 65th Reserve Command (now known as the 1st Mission Support Command) located in Ft Buchanan, Puerto Rico. Your trailer is a long way from home. Give it a sip of rum, it'll be ok.

The serial number should start off as a 100, 101, or 102 and then 4 additional digits.
