Another way to think of it is: the heat we are asking the cooling system to dissipate is proportional to (and is a byproduct of) the heat made by the motor when it does "work" (pushes the vehicle and its payload). There is probably a significant difference between pushing a three-thousand pound Mustang up to freeway-speed with a 450-HP motor than a fifteen-thousand+ pound Deuce up the Cajon-pass with a multi. That said, the typical military "worst-case/overkill" spec probably has a fair amount of "cushion" in it (probably allows for bullet-holes through a third of the tubes or something); so I'd love to hear you find out the Mustang radiator works OK. If you can: find out the specs on that fan too. The fan's CFM-rating is going to be more important in the Deuce because of its lower average vehicle speed - the radiator gets more airflow than most fans provide above about 40-45 MPH of vehicle speed, but the Deuce spends the majority of its time below that threshold (mine does anyway). Just my 2-cents.

Well hopefully the fact that you can control the "on time" of your fan, you can maintain the heat saturation below an overheat level. You can also add a "push fan" in front of the radiator to assist in the CFM number if it takes just that much more. I had a 502 Nitrous Chevy Chevelle Street Car with A/C that I was able to not be Three mile Island with some "creative" underhood air pressure levels to increase the "through the radiator" air flow. I guess we can brainstorm this while camping!

LOL.. i have lots of cars to drive ( I have 5 cars/truck) and my wife has one. So u know i am a car guy. It wont be fun without a MV at a MV meet. I just called Hundy and he will check tomorrow if he has one or not. $100dollarman would be my hero if he pulls this off. Secondly if I can make it, I will help DUG with this back pain....

I'd much rather be able to take my M109 as well, but it doesn't look good. I'm going anyway without it because a crappy day in the desert is better than a good day at home!

It's more about the people than about the trucks. People you know so well via the keyboard coming together just once or twice a year. If my deuce was down I would drive a Pinto out if I had to.

It is funny u said that. When I took out the 90 elbow from the waterpump housing to the side of the engine. There was evidence of not having water flowing thru there. I need to double check the waterpump housing to see if there is an obstruction. No overheating issue at all. When i took out the couplers, seems to be pretty dry.

I'd much rather be able to take my M109 as well, but it doesn't look good. I'm going anyway without it because a crappy day in the desert is better than a good day at home!
I would love to see your combat camper.....

For those geographically challeneged here are some directions
Take the 15fwy going north or south (depending where you're coming from) to
hwy 58 towards Bakersfield,
turn right on Lenwood
left on Santa Fe rd travel for about 4 miles
right on Hinkley travel about 7 miles you will see this sign to your right this is where you turn in.
Follow the red and white marker poles to location I'll try to set them every mile or so and double poles will be set where you would turn in (try not to eat them they are not candy).

That is the question.
It would be like 4 flaming donuts and cream filled all at the same time.
But sadley the mini quad would probably be lost in the interception attempt.
Mini ATV is down for carb issues. I'm bringing a full sized version. And towing the trailer up so we can spend the night.

0400 launch - 135 miles towing a M105. Probably 3 hours.

right on Hinkley travel about 7 miles you will see this sign to your right this is where you turn in.
Turn left or right after the sign and if so how many miles after turning? What happen if members arrive before the candies are in place? Best thing would be go to google map and right click where you think it is and have everyone follow that map. According to the instruction we should turn somewhere in this map

I'm coming in from Irwin/Copper Road. Will there be candy canes over there or is the majority coming in the other way? Any idea what the road conditions are?

It is a diagonal northeast off Hinckley past the houses just past Grasshopper. Off Copper City it is left just north or Williams Well Road. The road is typical desert back road not too technically challenging as far as I can tell. I will have my 10-11 meter radio on CB channel 25 and listening........:driver:
