Thanks for the info CARNAC!!!!

Do any of the numbers listed relate to the numbers found on the bumpers or tailgate?

Thanks again, and I plan on making a donation.
Yes the unit name would be part of the bumper number. I would suggest using the top secret website I provided info on before. It's top, top secret so don't tell anyone but type in

G.O.O.G.L.E. and type in the unit name. Should be able to find info on the unit from there.

Haha, I think I know what you mean.

Maybe...
Actually got one better. The unit has a facebook page. I'm not a fb fan and not a member so I don't know about photos and stuff like that. But if you are a member I'd contact the unit via fb and send a photo of the truck. I would think the unit would be happy and honored to provide you with information and maybe have photos of the truck. Just make sure you come across as a cool, collect individual who purchased one of their former vehicles and has a historical interest, not some nut job.

Carnac,

I would like information on a trailer I purchased at Ft. Cambell for my sf97.

It was listed as a m101a2, and has a i.d. plate on the box stating that but nothing else is stamped on it.

The i.d. plate on the frame states:

Kasel mfg, 3/4 ton m116a2
s/n 1388
nsn 2330011018434
delivery and inspection date of: 3/1991 (is this the year for the sf97)

then painted on the front and tailgate of the trailer is: (left side - 101SB129CCSB / right side - W31T)

For the sf97 would this be how I should fill it out:

Year: 1991, Make: Kasel mfg, Model: either m101a2 or m116a2, VIN# 1388,
Body Style: trailer/cargo, Color: green, Weight: 795, GVWR: 3160,
then N/A for mileage, fuel type and cylinders.

Hello Carnac,

my name is Tim Schroeder from Germany.

I am the owner of a CUCV II Pick-Up, perhaps you can find the unit, where it was used in.

I bought it from a contracted dealer here in germany.

The VIN: 1GCHK34F9VE235259
NSN: I just found the number of the older CUCV's
No Bumper codes or other information, sorry.

I think it was used by the Air Force, but who knows...

Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely Tim

I saw that, and I think I'll get in contact with them soon. Do I sound like a nut job? haha j/k

btw, I researched the contract number, and one of the links said the # had something go to Kuwait. Did all the vehicles made with the same contract number have the same destination, or was it just at random? I figure my 1008 just stayed at the base, but it would be cool if it ever left the US.

OK, this one took me quite a bit of time to work. First, the NSN provided is incorrect. The correct NSN for a 101A1 is 2330008986779---so beat thyself 50 lashes about the head and neck.

I'm assuming the trailer is a 101A1 and not an A2. Most likely what happened is someone lost a trailer and accidentally had one magically appear in their motorpool but with the wrong NSN. So they pulled off the pesky incorrect dataplate and ordered the new one but order the wrong one. So out comes the stamping dies and on goes one each F'd up dataplate.

Then some brain wizard fat fingered the data entry as an A2. I assume that because of the mfg date of 1969---a little before the A2's came about, wouldn't you say??

Not only all of this F'd up but then they have an original A1 registration number but add a second registration number behind the serial number of 1231. Wow, this unit had some really stellar maintenance personnel. Sure hope they aren't breading.

So here's what you got after me spending about 45 minutes from midnight to almost 0100 working your wonderful trailer with the F'd up dataplate. (I need a drink).

No info on this but the bumper is more likely CSSB not CCSB. Based on you info the trailer belonged to the 101st Sustainment Brigade 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. The trailer admin number is W31T so the truck that towed it is most likely W31.

The unit has a facebook page.
