a. Serial Number (VIN number): 1G8ED18J7EF194778
b. Registration Number: NF05YK
c. NSN without dashes: 2320011232605
d. Where you bought it: Private owner in MT
e. Bumper numbers:
Driver's side: P 40Z (between the P and the 4 there is a 0L that has been painted over on both the front and back bumper. I am guessing that was part of an older bumper number that is showing through)

495 TRANS BN
I am guessing that means the truck's number was 4430 with the MPTRL standing for Motor Pool Truck Light, but thats just a WAG

That's an old truck.
I post what I find on my database. It is definately an older truck rebuilt to an A2. The 11 you have at the beginning of your SN is actually an M. I suspect you found this letter/number combination on the passenger side.CARNAC I have a few questions for you on that:
The data plate on the dash says that its a 1971 but did it start in service in 1957?
I found a old pic of the truck when i first bought it and it had this on the front hood 1118th FSC D14 from GL when it was sold and i know that the 1118th is a unit out of South Carolina. What is the D14 for on there? Did it start its life in Texas and then make it way to South Carolina as its final service place?
Thanks for all you do for all of us with trying to figure out our trucks.
