I'll for sure be there if I'm off or can get the time off. I'm just not sure what the sleeping arrangement will be this time. I'd like to bring the M109 out but it won't run right. Worse case scenerio I'll set up a smaller user friendly tent.

You don't need a tent you need a M101A3 that I will be putting in the classifieds soon.

I have taken a deposit on my 4 door deuce conversion and sold my other one so I shouldn't drive it anyplace the truck is headed to Texas in Sept. Now I will need to build another one. I have a lead on a a3 with very low mileage under 2,000. with lost of stuff done to it and has been stored inside for yrs, only used to test mil spec equipment comes with about 25k worth of extra parts, bad thing is truck owner wants 20k for it. My truck is on you tube type in crew cab deuce with rear steering 2.5ton military truck if you want to see the truck I built in action. Thanks for invite if buyer falls out I might go for the get together. Fred

FASTNOVA - Thanks for the heads-up. I missed the last one (due to family illness), so I'm gonna try extra hard to make this one; any Oct weekend should be OK for me, weather is usually better (i.e.: cooler) towards the end of the month though.

Any time in Oct looks OK for us, prolly be going out there sometime before rally to scout some of those distant roads I've been eyballing from the solar project. Worked out there better part of this year and our phase is finished and I'm happily laid off. Looking forward to some quality mid-week time off and exploring that area a bit... meanwhile, if anybody wants to do some 4-wheeling out that way drop me a PM and we'll see what's what.

Thanks for the invite, Fastnova. I'm in. My friend Hauser has a 5 ton as well and I'm sure he'll join. We discussed bringing a clay pigeon thrower to our first rally. Would that be appropriate?

Looks like we are set for the weekend of Oct. 18-20. For the people that have not been there before I will be setting up these markers every mile or so if you are coming from Hinkley Rd. I will be headed out from LA around 7pm Thursday if anyone wants to convoy in.
Everyone is welcome to hang out even if you have never been out to an event. Bring your camping supplies, plenty of wood for a campfire and of course plenty to drink of your favorite beverage (you don't want to go thirsty out in the desert). We will be having a convoy through the desert on Saturday which makes for some good picture taking and afterwards we will have a BBQ for everyone that came out.
