This one made my day glad y'all caught it, and I do believe it was the old five ton that was the only one to make it on the first shot! I already can't wait til the next meet

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this another successful event. I've had several requests for a fall get together. Let me know if ya'll are interested and we'll see what we can make happen.

Thanks for the kind words. This was our 1st display, and of course, I didn't get to do everything I wanted to. I plan on expanding it with more mannequins. So we'll have the patient and attendant outside, plus patients and attendant inside, plus a driver. If I get all the mannequins in, in time, I'll have it all set up for Mabry. Here's a couple of picts of the display, for anyone who wasn't there.
You're really going "all out" with the mannequins and having them all set-up and all; that's great. [thumbzup]

Awe... The mud pit was probably scared by the bullet proof holding tank on your camper.... If you took steps to make your waste water bullet proof, there's no telling what you could do to the mud!

Finally got my camera to talk to my computer so I could download the photos. I got a bunch! First batches are of the rally vehicles and convoy to the museum. Later, I'll add the museum stuff.
I drove my M1031 and M101A1 trailer about 160 miles to Jeepsinker's place, where I picked up Fuzzytoaster's M934 and triple-towed all 3 vehicles 230 miles to College Station. And you CAN back up the triple-tow land train a short distance if you are slow, careful and lucky. I mis-judged the turning radius of the M934 driving behind a gas station and had to prove that it could be done. It traveled really well, and I enjoyed the adventure, except for the 20 miles of cold rain with no top on the cab.

Photos of the rally rigs - didn't really do a good job here.

These are some photos of the police-escorted convoy to the Museum of the American GI.

And lined up at the front of the museum (two more trucks showed up later).

The following photos are of the vehicles at the museum, many are privately owned. For some reason the ambulance photos didn't come out. There were a pile of jeeps! This event was also billed as the largest WWII re-enactment in the south, so you'll see some folks in period outfits.

Now come the tracks! The first is my favorite, composition-wise. The second one is the rear view of the last vehicle in the above post. I believe most or all of these are running.

Last museum shot is the Huey giving rides.
_MG_0528.jpg

The last set is Fuzzytoaster's HEMTT running through the pit. My battery died so I didn't get the other rigs running it.
Everyone is wondering if it will make it.
_MG_0554.jpg

But the outcome is already show in the earlier posts.
_MG_0556.jpg _MG_0558.jpg _MG_0557.jpg Then my battery died.

I feel very privileged to have met this gentleman, the father of one of the attendees. For privacy, I won't mention his name, but he was shot down during the Vietnam War and spent 7 years as a POW. At 75, he is 10 years older than I, and probably in better shape! Like most genuine heroes, his humility downplays his exploits.
