We had a wonderful lightning show, but no rain after around 1800 or so. Lots of visiting kept us up late.

Lincoln is is parked in "Lake Lincoln". While I am making due on the edge of lake CUCV. Nice thing about holding a rally in an abandoned rock quarry. You don't since far.

The sun is just coming up.

I made it home safe as well. Just finished breakfast and uploaded the convoy video.

I got a few M1009 dash iPad videos of the convoy in motion. But, we were driving into the sun the entire trip.

Once again it was nice to see and visit with everyone.

It was a great time!! It was nice to meet everyone and put faces/names to screen names. REALLY good crowd, thanks so much for the hospitality, I'll definitely have my stuff together next time and be camping out.

Thanks for the vid. I like how the Sheriff's office gave you all an escort.

What's the story on the rig with the "walking platform" on the extended front fender?

I think we ran across it once before for forest fire-fighting, is that the reason for it here do you know?

Friday Night:

This was the smallest turn-out I've seen. A bad storm blew through our area Friday, which I believe contributed to the low turn-out. Regardless, I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting a couple new ones. Here are some pictures from Friday night (March 24, 2017):

Saturday Morning:

Several more folks and trucks joined us for the police escorted convoy Saturday morning.

Brent Mullins Jeep Parts owner is the man behind starting the museum.

i went ahead and uploaded another video. The one with the least amount of sun glare.

i was trying to sneak over to the side and get the lead trucks turning when the rumble bumps got me. It is kind of unnerving to do that with a police car with all lights flashing right on my bumper.

Saturday Evening:

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....

We left the museum around 14:00ish and returned to the offroad ranch via a police escorted convoy. I have come to realize that is the only way to travel!!!

Back at the ranch, we had an afternoon to recreate and heavyzee had hauled his HMMWV out to play. He let me ride shotgun on the trails. By shotgun, I actually mean sitting on the center console since his HMMVW only had one seat and he was occupying it. Regardless of the seating arrangements, I was all too excited to ride along. It's been a long time since I've been offroading in a HMMWV. So he started with some impressive obstacles (steep hills, water crossings, etc.) >>>

So that went well... Then we found some deeper mud. Okay, I admit... I may have egged him on a bit...

It's amazing how the HMMWV blends into the natural habitat!! Not to worry... It's a SS rally!!! We have bigger trucks readily available to pull HMMWVs out of the mud >>>

Next came an awesome game of Follow the Leader!!! The HMMWV lead the way with two Deuces following. We went everywhere I would expect a HMMWV to go, and I was simply amazed that the Deuces followed on every hill and pit. There were a couple I didn't think a Deuce could do!!! But they did!!! The next two videos show a small fraction of the obstacles that the HMMWV and both Deuces conquered >>>

Wahoo!! The 2017 TX Rally was a good time. Wha'd y'all say we do it again next year?
