We’re gonna be coming from Tulsa and seen where someone said a convoy from Waco, we will probably be in the camper towing a hmvee, Friday afternoon works for us unless the crazy roosky goes chemical or nuclear?

Dang, 10 day forecast says I am going to be busting a head wind both directions, those coming down from north of Bryan should have it relatively easy!
Since I put that S788 shelter on 95% of my power is consumed by aerodynamics, not that I don't have the power to drive any way I want I was hoping to cruise along at a fair pace and actually get some MPG numbers.
Actually that is not completely honest, today on a short run I was facing a 17MPH headwind and pushed her to close to ticket time and the EGTs went to 1300F not real comfortable running that high for long, I was running 950F on the same trip downwind, time to look for a bigger intercooler.

Know the feeling. HeadWind bouncing off my windshield buckles my hood. Need to do some reinforcement.

There was a question about our timeline:

We will line-up for the convoy between 8:30-8:45am Saturday morning.
Our group will leave the museum between 2-2:30pm Saturday afternoon to head back to the ranch.



Unfortunately, I had something come-up Saturday night that I have to attend. I'll camp Friday night and convoy to the museum with the group on Saturday. Then I'll have to leave about noon on Saturday to head home. I feel horrible that I'll miss the Saturday afternoon activities and evening campfire.

Yes the 10 day forecast does push out to more than 10 days, it also changes of course because they have a hard enough time predicting what tomorrow will be, it now says the transition from north to south wind will be on Thursday not Friday so I MIGHT actually have a tail wind!

The rain chances are bumping up a little bit also

It has been my experience since I started with our adventures in my FJ40 that as soon as I pull out of the drive the wind automatically changes direction to have to buck a gale force head wind. And for some reason has the foresight to know when I am heading home to do the same. Acceptance ha!

Looks like fun. I camped in the Cowdog and M715 last weekend with my Trail Life Troop. Taught 22 little ones how to drive a manual. I am ready for next Friday.

You never know ha. Figured if you came Thursdaywith the southwind we could head down Fri with a north one hehehe.
A little axle porn before bed. Lots of headway tonight. My son coming tomorrow to help with the spring mount fab work on Saturday.

Barring a mechanical catastrophe, (or WWIII erupting) I'll be there! I have the "convoy light" package, if anyone has a "Convoy Follows" or Convoy Ahead banner?


Also, for mini-convoy purposes, I'll be rolling from New Caney.... Planning on 105 out west from Conroe, but could take a more southerly route for strength in numbers.

I can jump in the convoy just tell me when and where to be. I took Friday off just to give me enough time to get where I need to be.
