That pivot point is not for dumping but some use it that way. It will bend very easy or twist when dumping something heavy. Most I have seen were bent when they pick it up with a fork truck and cantilever the trailer off it.. GL ding, dings.. Later versions are a heavier frame rail probably for this reason.

Anyone have trouble with the frame rails that go from the pivot area to the lunette bending?
Most of the bent frames I've seen on M101/M116 trailers have been on the A1 or older A2 versions.

I have a M116a3 and a M101a3 and both are very beefy. The a3 version was up-rated to 1 ton instead of 3/4 of the a1 and a2 versions.

If you don't keep the bolts in the front of the bed to frame attachment tight, and you jack-knife the trailer while backing up, they will bend the frame, especially if heavily loaded.
