38's on M1008= Better Gas Mileage?

Thanks for the info. So have to ask, why didn't you just install an OD tranny like a 700R4? Are you splitting gears with it? Oh, and don't worry, nothing's going to waste. The Utility box is going on an M101A3 trailer chassis and all the electrical stuff is going into my motorhome. Actually, the only thing I don't have any plans for is the cab and all the sheetmetal up front. Looks like it's all in super good shape though, so I'm sure someone will be able to make use of that stuff.

If i remember correctly the m1008 has 4.56 ratio axles and the m1009 has 3.08?? Ratio axles
