It was for a generator, I'am using it for a garden tractor. Any info on how to pull more power from it would thankful for that too.

It has low compression, small valves and a fairly weak crankshaft. Sure, putting a slightly larger carb on it, shaving heads, shortening pushrods to match and possibly shifting timing might get 20 Hp, but for how long? At best, it will put out 12 Hp reliably, 16 with some internal mods.

use it for what it was designed for, 3600 RPM with a 6 Hp load.
