Newbie here, have been in the old car hobby for years this is my first military vehicle. A Vietnam veterans wife who I work with asked me the other day if I might be interested in her husbands project M-37 (he lost interest) So she gave it to me. I would like to honor him by painting and marking it as one from his unit. Don't know where to start except that he was in the 3/197th field artillery a guard unit from NH

Welcome to the forum! A great source of information for these trucks (besides here) is the G741 website.

What are your plans for the truck?

Also, we are a very visually oriented group, so some pictures would be nice.

And, for any questions you may have, ask a way!

Welcome to the fun

Hi

Welcome to the forum, and to the world of military vehicles. There are a number of Military Vehicle nuts here in New Hampshire that are active on the SteelSoldiers forum.

There is also an active military vehicle club here in New Hampshire Merrimack Valley Military Vehicle Collectors mvmvc.org we have a rally every July drawing MVs from all over the northeast and Canada. The MVMVC has a winter/spring Flea Market coming up March 18th.

Quite a few M37 owners in the group as well.

Cheers Phil

Welcome to Steel Soldiers and our green with envy MV ownership. It's a great first post because it's a big part of the early hunting adventure, looking for pictures of your new MV in original photos or at least with the correct markings. Others will chime in and point you in the right direction.

I was hoping I could just search the terms "3/197th field artillery"....hit images.....then follow the pictures to websites with more information and pictures.

Here's a link with one photo of an M37 with the 197th Field Artillery that I stumbled on.

After finding the correct unit numbers we can go through M37 pics randomly and maybe come across your truck. http://militarymashup.com/

It's great seeing another M37 in good hands. Here's a photo posting tutorial. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?59917-How-to-post-pictures-a-tutorial
