6.2 Injection Pump install...

Iam installing a new Injection Pump in my 6.2 Diesel M1009. Not my first time but what need to know is if I can turn The crank without the pump installed in order to better align the top hole. They are off to the left and putting the pump back in is a crap shoot to hit the aligning pin and starting the screw with it off like that.
If I turn the crank clockwise does the injection pump gear turn counter clockwise?

Since the gear only bolts on one way to the IP. You can turn the crankshaft all you want.
