It sounds like not enough RPM but if not that or the filters then my guess is the turbo is out.

He did say the transfer was in low, but still, that isn't high enough rpm.

Post a pic. Juse FYI, any more than four doors and they get unusable because you don't want to have to climb the tire to get in.
