cool..never thought to look at AM General. Was doing everything via military sitesThey are often referred to as "A0" because too many people like to say "M998" whether it's an M998, M998A1 or M998A2. Calling it an A0 makes it clear that it is NOT an A1 or A2 model.
If you look at AM General's parts website they refer to the basic models as A0. They also refer to the M1123 as an M1123A2 even though that's also not a real designation, because all M1123 trucks ARE M998A2 variants.

I have never seen A0 in any TM, why in the world AMG did that is beyond me, just makes it things more confusing, they COULD have CORRECTLY labeled that column BASIC but hell no..........They are often referred to as "A0" because too many people like to say "M998" whether it's an M998, M998A1 or M998A2. Wasn't titled in WV, I had to title it myself in NJ. On the bill of sale, says 1994 M998. NJ had no clue what this thing was so they titled it as "1994 AM/M994 Humvee"....LOL WTF?What does your title say??
Well as long as it is titled under that serial number I think you are doing OK!!!Wasn't titled in WV, I had to title it myself in NJ. On the bill of sale, says 1994 M998. NJ had no clue what this thing was so they titled it as "1994 AM/M994 Humvee"....LOL WTF?
