It is not NATO stock, but how about installing an exhaust extension with a 90 degree bend in it? This may reduce the Coffee Can flinging bragging rights, but it will reduce your cleaning bills!

So I'm curious... I know that a pipe cut at 90 degrees sounds cool, does having a small hole at the low point of the pipe for water to drain effect the exhaust sound?

...probably if you stick your head in the wheel well.

check for water in the oil if you didn't already. I've seen water in the oil after a water-in-the-exhaust start.
