Hope everyone had a blessed Easter.
Had a few hours to work on the generator over the extended weekend.
Got the radiator back from having the over flow nipple soldiered back on. Asked about the corrosion bloomes at some of the tubes. He said he pressure tested it to 10-15 psi and they didn't leak
Installed it back in the front assembly
Placed the tank back in the pan and hooked up the wires to do a function check on the "low fuel switch", Check. "Aux pump switch" down on up off, Check. Fuel gauge, FAIL. Would not read below half and would jump all over the place above a half. Out it comes.
You have to love the old stuff that you can take apart and clean!!!

Reinstall the front assembly on the unit. Those screws along the bottom in front of the engine were a B!T^H!!!
Of course my help was there too!!!

Radiator Flush Day:
Read somewhere an easy way to flush an old radiator was to fill it with a 50/50 mix of straight white vinegar and distilled water.
Run the engine to get it up to temp, then let it run for a while to circulate the water and vinegar. Shut it down and let it sit over night and let the vinegar do it's thing. Next day, start the engine and let it run for a while to stir everything up again. Shut the engine down and drain the fluid while hot. HOLY JESUS, MOTHER OF GOD what in the hell was this thing filled with in the past!!!! We have an area around here called the "Chocolate Bayou". It has the appearance of rich chocolate milk, this stuff made it look clear!!!
Spent the rest of the day filling the cooling system, running up to temp and dumping at least 6-8 times (really I lost count). Got some resemblance of clear fluid to start to come out and called it good. Mixed up some good Prestone Green and filled it up. It is a real pain to put coolant in that radiator neck, tilting the machine with a jack sure does help.
Testing the AUX fueling system. CHECK
Fuel gauge steadily rose being filled with the AUX pump. CHECK
Coolant temp came up to a tick above 180 deg and stayed. CHECK
Battery Charge would go way into the green after start up and float back to where it is now. CHECK
Oil Pressure settled in where it is now. CHECK
Played with the frequency and volt adjustment to see if they worked. CHECK
Would like to add a video, but don't know how without putting it up on Ytube.
Plugged in the biggest load I could find in my garage that I could plug into the convenience outlet, a heat gun of 1200 watts. Barely made it flinch!!! CHECK
Now to find a way to do a proper load test. I hear home AC heater coils are great for just that.

Just remember if you get to carried away on the front receptacle, the reset is right behind the front panel door, to the left, almost the backside of where the receptacle is. Receptacle is rated for 10 amps.
In one of my units, I never put the very middle screw/bolt, back in the very bottom radiator panel in front of the engine.
Video's = yep, put up on you tube and set link.
NOTE: because your unit has the artic heater, your coolant amount will be more than the standard listed. Just keep filling, dead crank 5 seconds, and keep filling...

Nice - I just scored a single 802a on a trailer for 1200. Im going through doing all the same stuff and officially joined SS. Filters, MOV mod, Quad MWO is already on it. I just filled it up with diesel and don't see any leaks so Im not messing with the lines other than maybe the return line. Still need to figure out the output to tie into my shop. Good stuff!!

Well I have decided to sell the one of the Arctic Heaters. I have removed the whole devise and wiring harness. I have bench tested it and it can heat a 5 gal bucket of room temp water to 160 deg in 8 minutes. Sounds like a little jet engine when running. There are some pics on the classified side and I can email a video of it running.

Thanks for your concern. Those orange straps are brand new and are rated for over a 1000#'s each. That gives me over a 4 times safety factor. I will agree with you 100% on the cheap thin straps. Seen to many nice motorcycles come undone while being trailered.
