The a3 bobber me and a buddy built would do 58-59 at redline with 14.00-20 xzls. This was verified with gps.

What is your red line? The cat 3116 is red lined at 2,750 rpm. I checked my A3 with 14.00 x 20 XZL, 2,800 rpm is 60 mph, 60 mile markers in 60 minutes.

You would think that they would make all these trucks capable of the same speed when traveling in a convoy on an interstate.

Convoys never go that fast. 40, maybe 45 tops is about as fast as we ever went on the Interstates.

Honestly I can't tell you at the moment. Mark was driving and with his foot to the floor on level-ish road my gps fluttered between 58-59. I wasn't watching the tach.

That's probably an exception, and not the rule. Single trucks do not constitute a convoy.

I have passed several small National Guard convoys here in Florida recently doing close to 65 MPH on I -95. These were mostly M923 or M935 trucks with big single tires, and also some HMMWVs.

Can you exceed the engine redline in an M35A3 or does the governor prevent that?

You can definitely exceed the engine red line in an A3 and it is very easy to do.
