Well I now have one of these AccuTemp units and it did not have the batteries or the cage/harness for them. When I connect the 110 cord nothing powers up. Do the batteries at least have to be plugged in to power up? No lights on the controller or anything when I plug it in. Any thoughts ?

While I personally don't know the answer, I was diagnosing a problem with my unit with acutemp they said that in order to run on 24v your batteries have to be decently charged before. Maybe that is something similar to your problem.

If I'm able to get out to the shop today I'll test mine and let you know. I'm pretty sure they will not run on the DC cord without the batteries but I don't know if I've ever tried it with the AC cord.

I verified mine would run with the batteries disconnected on AC power.

Also verified in the manual that it indicates it will run on AC input power without batteries but it will not run on DC input power without batteries.

Trying to troubleshoot the unit with the service manua, l noticed that the manual is for model number HMC-MIL-1. The unit I have is HMC-MIL-1A. The board's are different. Does any one know where I can get a updated manual for a HMC-MIL-1A

AcuTemp is still in business and service these units. They were bought by CSafe Global. I contacted them and they helped me.

I'm having a weird issue. The exposed line coming out of the compressor is very cold and builds up frost. The picture attached is after running it overnight.

Does anyone else's do this? With my other acutemp fridge, both lines coming out of the compressor are hot to the touch, unlike this where one is hot and one is cold. I charged it to 10.5 oz of r134a after leaving it on a vacuum. The frost is only occuring on the exposed portion of line. I am thinking of insulating it like the rest.

Also, this unit has a service fitting on the low pressure side, unlike my other one. So I was able to get a vacuum of both sides on this unit, unlike my original where I only had the tap on the high pressure side.

Looks like only the Freon was drained not the oil. My other question is, The unit does turn on when connect it to ac or dc power, could this be caused by the freon being removed?

I contacted csafe global looking for I service manual HMC-MIL-1A. I was told they were not able to release the manual, because I'm not military. Still looking for HMC-MIL-1A service manual. Does anyone know where I can obtain this updated service manual. THIA MANUAL is different than the HMC -MIL - 1

I see that you were having problems with Frost buildup coming out of your compressor, I had the same problem. I covered the copper line with rubber and added Freon until I was able to get temp down to -24c. that cleared up the problem. The unit has been running for 6 months plug-in with new batters, so far so good.
