The civilian trucks were the same setup and almost none had tachometers.

I don't know why they'd build a diesel truck without a tach. At highway speed, I am trying to guess if I am near red line by tone.

Where did you get your Tach? Was wondering what one to use on my build. Thanks

Another tach option is that if you're building an engine get a 6.5 timing cover and tone ring. It's 4 pulse per rev so it should work with any v8 tach. This also lets you run a 6.5 vibration damper.
