My recently bought ex army k5 6.2 (1985) seem to have a lack of power.
Currently it fits a 2829-4544 hd injection pump which i could only turn up 1/4 till it stopped. I suspect it was already turned up in the past without much result. It currently runs without any smoke.

Shops advice me to exchange the injection pump as it probably is failing. I have two option given to me. Either buy a 4911 or they offer me a hummer pump (number not known, but it seems to be the upgrade mostly done here in the netherlands. However, i read a lot on the 4911 to be the pump to get...

Any advice on these options? It does not have a turbo at the moment. Might be something i consider for the future.
for now, What is the wise / better option here?

Thanks for your advice

You can use the HMMWV on the truck , i have a M1009 with one of a military HUMMER even do i have a turbo on my i never turn the fuel up even on the stock pump, the only thing you have to do is run the the top cover of your old pump as the CUCV is 12 volt and the HMMWV is 24V, as far as the 4911 is great if you going to run turbo in the future and would work best also with matching injectors of a TB 6.5 but i think it would smoke heavy with out the turbo....

Does it matter if the hummer pump is 6.2 or 6.5 ? Will a stock hummer pump already give more fuel anyway?
I do want to get some more power if possible, but a turbo would be something for next year

The HUMMER had both engines the 6.2 and the 6.5 NA depending on which IP # that pump is will determine the CALIBRATION on it and yes the standar HMMWV IP has a few more CC"S of fuel in the calibration in other words is hotter

thanks for the replies!!

I checked with the shop today, and they indicate it is a 6.2 hummer pump (number is ending with 33 - could not read the full number that quickly ;)

So if I understand your comment correctly, even the 6.2 hummer pump standard, will provide more fuel (or is hotter as you state) then my 2829-4544 will ever do??
