Aftermarket VDO Gauges

The speedometer (333-162) and tachometer (437-152) are both VDO Vision; the rest of the gauges are VDO Cockpit. If I could do it over again, I would have used all Vision series which has better lighting. The pics make it look a little harsh but it is not.

The tachometer and speedometer are electronic. The tachometer did not require any changes to the settings. The speedometer requires you to drive one mile to calibrate. The speedometer and tachometer both work on 24V. The rest of the gauges are operated using a small DC-DC power converter (Digikey 945-2204-ND).

The senders are common 16 pulse speedometer senders for GM transmissions. The square drive on the senders is smaller than the transfer case or engine tachometer drive. Since it takes very little force to turn the senders, I used a piece of heat shrink tubing to make up the difference.

Overall, a really nice update.
