Allison HT740 shift point mod.

Can the shift points in the HT740 be adjusted like in a MT653 transmission? I've googled it but can't find any info for the HT series. Only for the MT series. Is it the same or totally different.

M-916A1. Blown NTC 400! Take flywheel housing off 400 and bolt it on, plus HT 740 to NHC 250?? Would need throttle senser/kick down off PT pump too, I think?🤔

916a1s are not a big cam 400. The HT740 has a totally incorrect torque converter and flywheel. You can't install it. It's an HT740D which the D means Detroit

I've got a HT754CR for sale which is the 5spd version behind a big cam. It will not bolt to a nhc250 without the sae1 bellhousing which means you have to make new engine mounts etc.

HT740 is a 4spd. 754 is a 5 spd

HT700s and Allison 4000 series world transmissions are equal counterparts and are SAE1 bellhousings. MT600s and world 3000s are SAE 2s

ok, it is a M 915A1, they have it listed wrong... But the flywheel from the B C 400 would bolt up to the NHC 250 right? Just turning the gears in my head for future plans. The HT740 is also a CR too, right? meaning close ratio?

The 915a1 has an HT754CR not an HT740. They are the same transmission one just has 4 gears one has 5.

Flywheel will transfer over but the bellhousing is 4inches larger in diameter which means new engine mounts. Bellhousing will transfer over you have to drill one bolt hole out with a jig tool.

No ht740 is not a CR.
