Yep, thats how the Gov't does it. Note the 11R20 radials which ride real nice. Not too gnarly looking though!

that would prolly load the wheel bearing more to one side if they did that. i could use that fleet at my house. Did u see all the nice pre-camo-ed deer stands on the first page<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_cool.gif" alt="Cool">

Hey guys,

Two things:

1. Off the top of my head, I don't know if you need to swap the bearing races in the hubs when you flip. I ended up not flipping the hubs on my project truck's front axle, so I never had to flip. Can I just unbolt the drums and swap the bearings themselves around or do I have to flip the races as well (inner to outer and vice versa)?

2. I saw some M1070's yesterday on 16r20's. Those are INSANE.

No, you can't switch the bearings around. The I.D. on the inner most bearing is larger than the outer one.

The front axle is the same set-up as the rear (Same bearings).
So, I would mount the rims like the picture posted and call it good.

If you can get a copy of Military Vehicles Magazine Issue 79 ( May 2000 ) theres a great step by step article in there on flipping the hubs to make SRW on the 35.

The inner and outer bearings are different but the bearing races are the same. You can flip the hub around punch out your lug bolts and put them in the other direction or if you feel like spending a little money buy 4 front wheel drive hubs 2 left and 2 rights,right hand threads. Take off the brake drum from the plate and use as is. Bolt on your regular rear drums and shove them in. All front wheel hubs and rear wheel hubs are all the same part. Just reconfigured differently. This is what we did. Hope it helps.

Yep this is what I'm asking. :)

I hate punching out races from grease filled bores (my procedure is to always clean the grease out first, and that would be a heck of alot of snot from these hubs), so if I can avoid that then this job becomes much more attractive in my mind!!!

Thanks for the tip. I think this winter will see alot more work on the deuce.
