Are exhaust stacks illegal on a pickup truck?

If you put your stacks in corners of the bed, wrap the part in the bed with header wrap and the box in the corner you would be fine.
Are stacks nice its like saying is a flatbed better than a regular bed. It depends on personal preference and what you want.

just your average MSP trooper.
Minimal knowledge of the laws, don't care to learn them either.
Only mission is to issue citations to bring in money.
Yes, there is a limit on bumper & frame height for vehicles with less than a 10,000 lb gvwr
Stacks on a pickup are not illegal here. Exhaust must exit to rear of the passenger compartment
If you were sporting WI plates, bumper height & exhaust stacks were not sufficient cause to stop you. ( but the average trooper doesn't really care about following the rules).

Jeep with stacks.jpgHere is another fine example of stacks on a vehicle. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Whats This For? This guy brought this back 3 times because 1 pipe put more exhaust out then the other. He wanted them to be equal. It was 6 cylinder and looked like crap when completed. Imagine that?

I understand a single exhaust stack on a jeep if you do any deep water fording, but certainly not two huge ugly ones.
There have been more than a few times that having an exhaust stack similar to the one used on the Hmmwv fording kits would have allowed me to not get stuck. Once that muffler gets water in it, you lose all your power, if the engine even stays running.
