I thought all the belts were 8 groove for the HMMWV, and only the civi H1 had a 6 groove belt.

Is the belt for the turbo trucks different than the non-turbo trucks? I thought the tensioners were all smooth. Just the post 196900 trucks had lips on the edges of the pulley, but still flat as it rides the back of the belt, and that's looking in the ECV/REV parts manual.

What is the width of the eight groove belt.

I have just purchased an ECV. It is missing the belt tensioner.

I guess what I am really asking is what are the differences between an ECV serpentine belt tensioner and a civilian 6.5 liter belt tensioner? Are they interchangeable and if not… what are the differences?

There are 2 versions of tensioner for the hmmwv, early serp and late serp…the version of serpentine dictates the model of tensioner. A2 trucks would have both versions based on build date of motor, all ECV and later would have only, one version, what referred to as the “Lipped” version, early had a smooth pulley.
Get anything Civilian out of your though process on a hmmwv turbo motor, nothing is the same.
The TM dictates by Serial number range and UOC what part is used on what engine and truck.

Thanks Steve! It was worth at least checking.

I was trying not to bother you with question after question.

Thanks again.

You are terrific.
